Welcome
I write because I love writing. It is more than my joy and passion. It’s what drives me. My father was a librarian, so when I say I grew up in a library, I’m not being hyperbolic. I grew up surrounded by books and was taught to love and respect them. I read anything I could get my hands on, and often still do, and started writing them because I thought that was what everyone did. I wrote my first novel when I was five. It was about my cat and fairies in my mother’s rose garden.
Today, my stories are adventures. I call them smart, feminist, vacation reads. They’re fun but also have real stakes. They’re also about the characters, not what happens to them. I do develop an outline, but it’s because I start with a question and want to see how my characters react to specific things. What would change a person like this? How would a person react to this? Eventually, my characters always surprise me (so I hope they surprise you, too). So the outline is more guideline than strict path. I’ve written multiple novels and have started even more. I give my characters 10,000 words to become. If I love them then, I give them at least 70,000 more. I spend a lot of time with them, and hope my readers will too.
Although I’ve been writing for years, I am just beginning my publishing journey. I’ve primarily written my books for my friends to read, one in particular who always encouraged me to try to publish for a wider audience. I lost her recently, and so now here I am reaching out and hoping my stories bring you as much joy as they bring me and brought her.
